Mom's Italian Salad Dressing

1/4 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. purchased mixed Italian seasonings
1/4 tsp. salt
2 TBSP. Bella red wine vinegar (the brand is important -- no
other red wine
vinegar tastes the same in this recipe)
4 TBSP. vegetable cooking oil
Put seasonings into a small Mason jar. *Add red wine vinegar next, then add the cooking oil. Cap the jar and shake or swirl until well mixed. About 10 minutes before serving, pour salad dressing over greens and toss. Letting the salad sit a few minutes allows the flavor to "bloom."
Enough for a large salad.
*The order in which you add the vinegar and oil is important. Salt will not dissolve in oil, so you add the vinegar first to dissolve the salt, then add the oil.
